Le Jazz et Le Vin: A Syncopated Evening of Sips and Sax
If you believe that wine should be sipped in a library-like silence, we offer our sincerest apologies—this evening is not for you. But, if you believe a vintage Bordeaux tastes better when accompanied by a wandering bassline, then bienvenue.
Welcome to an evening where the wine is complex, the music is "blue," and the atmosphere is thick with a very particular kind of French nonchalance.
The Liquid Philosophy
Our sommelier has curated a list of wines so expressive they practically have their own philosophy degrees. Whether you prefer a crisp, intellectual Chablis or a bold, dramatic Rhône that flirts with your senses, the pours will be generous. Remember: in a French jazz club, we don't "tasting-note"—we experience. If you find yourself describing a Pinot Noir as "vibrating at the frequency of a Miles Davis solo," you are doing it correctly.
The Auditory Entrée
As you dine, our jazz ensemble will be providing the "sauce" for your evening. Expect music that is sophisticated yet slightly unpredictable—much like a good soufflé. From the sultry swing of Django Reinhardt to the modern grooves that make you tap your polished loafers, the mood is set to "Refined Rebellion."
The Art of the Evening
-
The Dress Code: "Midnight in Paris." A touch of velvet, a sharp blazer, or a look that says, "I might be a poet, or I might just be very well-dressed."
-
The Etiquette: It is perfectly acceptable to close your eyes to appreciate a saxophone solo. It is less acceptable to do so because you’ve had a third bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Moderation is chic, non?
"Jazz is the only music in which the same note can be played night after night but differently each time." — Just like our chef’s mood, though we promise the steak frites is consistently magnificent.
Join us as we dim the lights and turn up the soul. It’s going to be a night of high notes and deep pours.
